Very much the electric brother of “Tales”, the writing of this album followed on while I was mixing the previous album. Indeed I think that “Changing” at least was written during the “Tales” sessions. It’s unbelievable to me that it’s nearly 3 years ago.
It also saw the move from Percy’s Studios No.1 to No.2. Although most of the recording was done in No.1 – all of the post-production was in the new studio.

Again advances in studio knowledge, effects, and better recording techniques helped greatly, and the confidence was found to create a full band sound, even daring to spend time writing and recording guitar solos. The simple old fashioned reverbs and delays are still used, hopefully to create a vintage atmosphere to the recordings.

Looking back amongst my archives, this album was preceded by almost as many tracks, in a more funky style, but it was tracks like “So Quickly” and “Breath Of A Baby” which moved me to the eventual style, the latter being written before my wife was even pregnant with Emily, merely at the prospect ahead.

Also the album is dedicated to Keith Morris (rock photographer) who I became close to over the period of the album, and who sadly died before he could hear my song about that wretched boy.
